One of the best things you can do for your new puppy is to enroll him or her in Animal Family Veterinary Care Center’s puppy class. This will give your pet a solid start with training in good social skills that will pay dividends later.
Animal Family Veterinary Care Center offers a 6-week course for puppies less than 6 months of age. Older dogs may enroll if they are a small breed and only with the permission of the instructors. Basic obedience skills and commands are taught, such as:
- Walking on a leash
- Heel
- Down
- Sit
- Stay
- Come
Puppy class emphasizes wellness care for your pet as well. We will teach you good strategies for taking care of your new puppy’s teeth, hair, coat, and nails. This works hand-in-hand with developing a long-term examination and treatment schedule with us.
Along with social skills, we all want to know some fun ways to play with our pets. This is where tricks come in handy. Our instructors will teach your pet the following tricks:
- Shake
- Roll over
- Leave it
- Hurdles
- Play tunnels
Classes are held outside weather permitting, on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 - 7:30. Class cost: $50.00 for the 6 week course. We know you and your puppy will enjoy these classes.
