Welcomed By: LYNN & ROGER
Our family has had two yellow labs & had to lay them to rest because of old age. After my last one, "Snooker" left us, my husband said no more dogs in Feb 2008. My son Jeff had a friend helping at the Humane Society on Brady Street & called him to tell him about three brother dogs that were abondoned at 53rd & Pine Streets in Davenport, late July 2008. My mother was seriously ill & dying so I needed help to cope. Jeff called his friend & was told they were putting the pups out Monday Sept. 8th, 2008. Jeff met me there & I fell in love with all three but choose "Smudge". Brought him home Wed, Sept 10th with my granddaughter Madison, & my Mother passed Fri, Sept 12th. Smudge & I have been to visit Mom regularily since she was a big dog lover! Dr Rob at the vets told me he should be about 50 lbs & was probably a cross between a coon dog & a blood hound. As of April 27th, Smudge is now at 85 lbs & almost identically resembles a Rodesian Ridgeback dog but the hair on the nape of his neck & back, does not grow backwards. All three brothers we adopted on Monday Sept 8th & Smudge is a wonderful dog. Since abondoned we decided his birthday as June 18th, 2008 which was my parents 59th anniversary.
